Steve Martin, Banjo, Band, Perform On “A Capitol Fourth”

WASHINGTON (July 4, 2011)--Steve Martin wanted to make sure that when he and the Steep Canyon Rangers perform tonight on "A Capitol Fourth," they do something related to Independence Day, so he wrote a song about the midnight ride of Paul Revere called "Me and Paul Revere."

The twist is that Revere’s horse tells the story.

Other entertainers on "A Capitol Fourth" include Matthew Morrison from "Glee" and Josh Groban.

"American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks will sing while Chelsie Hightower and Mark Ballas of "Dancing With the Stars" dance.

And Little Richard will perform with the Broadway cast of "Million Dollar Quartet," with actor-singers playing together as Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins.
